Pinus radiata (Monterey Pine)-Root balled
Available to pre order - we will be digging from mid October.
Pinus radiata, commonly known as Monterey pine, is a fast-growing conifer that naturally thrives in coastal areas with mild, maritime climates. Native to a small stretch of the California coast, it has been widely planted around the world, particularly in Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and South Africa, where it forms the backbone of commercial forestry. Its adaptability to sandy, well-drained soils and tolerance of salt-laden winds make it especially suited to coastal environments. The tree is easily recognized by its dark green needles, grouped in clusters of three, and its tall, straight trunk that can reach impressive heights in favourable conditions. While it provides valuable timber and shelterbelts, Pinus radiata can also be vulnerable to pests and diseases outside its native range, requiring careful management in plantation settings.
