Hippophae rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) - Bareroot
Hippophae rhamnoides, commonly known as sea buckthorn, is a hardy, deciduous shrub belonging to the family Elaeagnaceae. Native to Europe and Asia, it thrives in sandy, well-drained soils and is often found along coastlines, riverbanks, and mountainous regions. The plant is notable for its bright orange berries, which are exceptionally rich in vitamins C and E, carotenoids, flavonoids, and essential fatty acids. These nutrient-dense berries are used in traditional medicine, cosmetics, and functional foods for their antioxidant and regenerative properties. Sea buckthorn also plays an important ecological role—its nitrogen-fixing roots improve soil fertility and prevent erosion, making it valuable in land reclamation and sustainable agriculture projects.
