Acer platanoides (Norway Maple) -10L pot

£39.95

The Acer platanoides, commonly known as the Norway maple, is a deciduous tree native to Europe and western Asia. It is valued for its broad, rounded crown and dense foliage, which provides excellent shade in urban and suburban landscapes. The tree can grow up to 20–30 meters tall and is characterized by its distinctive five-lobed leaves that turn vibrant shades of yellow in the fall. Norway maples produce small yellow-green flowers in early spring, followed by paired winged seeds called samaras. While hardy and adaptable to a variety of soils and environmental conditions, Acer platanoides is considered invasive in some regions because it can outcompete native vegetation and reduce biodiversity. Its robust growth, however, makes it a popular choice for street planting and large gardens.
